Fred Allyn III was re-elected to his second term as municipal CEO of the Town of Ledyard in November 2019. Prior to serving as Mayor, Mr. Allyn, III served two terms on the Ledyard Town Council, including as chairman of the Finance Committee, while also serving on the Land Use, Planning and Public Works Committee. Mr. Allyn, III previously served on the Ledyard Inland Wetland and Watercourses Committee as well as the town Open Space Committee and the Budget Transformation Committee. Mr. Allyn, III attended Clemson University, where he studied Finance, with a minor in Real Estate.

Mr. Allyn, III has also maintained a Commercial Real Estate Brokers license since 2002. Mayor Allyn was twice elected by his peers to serve as Chairman of the Southeastern Council of Governments, a group of municipal CEO’s representing 22 municipalities and political subdivisions within Southeastern CT as well as partnerships with two tribal nations and military command representatives. Mayor Allyn, III is also on the Board of Directors for the Southeastern CT Housing Alliance and is a member of the Joint Land Use Study with the United States Navy. He’s currently serving as Chairman of the SECCOG Solid Waste Committee to study the refuse issues facing the State of Connecticut. In 6 fiscal years, Mayor Allyn III has delivered annual budgets that average a 2.2% increase, including Board of Education and the Capital Plan.
